Country Director Bolivia
The department Africa/Latin America/Caribbean works in 13 countries in the areas international cooperation and humanitarian aid focusing on WASH, education, food security and human rights. Our country programmes are implemented through country offices and local partners, backstopped by a programme manager in the head office of Caritas Switzerland in Lucerne. The country director Bolivia is responsible for the management and implementation of the country programme in Bolivia.
Your duties
- Operational planning, management and supervison of the country programme Bolivia on-site. Project development, adaption and implementation in close cooperation with the head office
- Management responsibility of the country office, including human resource management and budget responsibility
- Planning, monitoring and reporting of the projects (narrative and financially)
- Representation of Caritas Switzerland in Bolivia
- Acquisiton and fundraising on national and international level according to the strategy of the country programme. Elaboration of proposals, reporting and comunication with donors
- Selecion of partner organizations, methodological and content-related adivsory
- Coordination and networking with national and international organizations as well as government agencies
- Public relations in accordance with the guidelines of the head office
- Organization and monitoirng of evaluations and audits
- Organization of visits from Switzerland et al.
Our requirements
- Masters Degreee (Master or Diploma)
- At least 10 years of work experience, of which at least 5 years in the area of internataional cooperation, including foreign assignments
- Relevant expertise in the fields of activity WASH and/or education is of adavantage
- Experience in planning, monitoring and implementation of projects and programmes (PCM-experience)
- Finance management skills (proposal elaboration, reporting, budget monitoring of the country office and partners) and business expertise
- Networking and lobbying experience with international organizations and governmental and non-governmental institiones
- Experience in the colaboration with bi- and multilateral donors (inlcuding proposal submission and acquisition) is of advantage
- Strategic and entrepreneurel thinking and acting
- Analytical and conceptional skills and interlaced thinking
- Distinct leadership skills, decisive
- Fluent in English and Spanish is an asset, German is of advantage
