Position: Project Manager, Fulltime
Location: ICON head office in Cologne/Germany with possible travels to the project countries
Areas of responsibility include:
- Project Acquisition:
- Coordination and support preparation of tenders and active contribution to the company’s business development activities;
- Networking with partner companies, formation of consortia;
- Identification, negotiation and recruitment of short- and long-term experts for planned and ongoing projects;
- Preparation of pre-qualifications documents and proposals, methodologies and financial proposals for international financing institutions such as GIZ, KfW, EU and World Bank;
- Fact finding missions
- Project Management
- Contract management with donors and partners;
- Project planning, supervision and monitoring, incl. communication and coordination of activities, development of Terms of Reference for STE, quality control of deliverables, performance management and controlling of project budgets;
- Expert management, incl. recruiting and coordination of experts, supervision of project teams;
- Public relations and networking, continuous support to internal and project related knowledge management and product development;
- Execution of backstopping missions.
Personal and Technical Profile:
- University degree in either Agriculture or Environmental Science, or equivalent background experience in relevant areas;
- Minimum of 3 years experience in relevant fields of technical cooperation in the consultancy;
- Knowledge of donor agencies’ management, administrative procedures and technical requirements (EU, World Bank, GIZ, KfW etc) would be an asset;
- Familiar with tools and instruments of TA delivery;
- Excellent analytical and writing skills;
- Proven personal communication and teamwork skills, ability to work in interdisciplinary and intercultural team settings;
- Efficient time management and ability to keep an overview in complex project setting;
- Professional level of language skills in English and German (speaking and writing) is mandatory, Fluent language skills in French also required;
- Willingness to travel.
