Requirements

Academic background

  • Bachelor or Master’s degree in communications, development management, international relations, business administration, political science, or any other relevant field


Experience

  • Minimum of 5 years professional work experience in Project Management, preferably in an international (development) context (e.g. with NGOs, EC, foundations, private companies, etc.)
  • Minimum of 5 years consultancy experience
  • Significant experience in communications and visibility projects for international organisations
  • Significant experience in drafting of communications and visibility strategies or roadmaps, including definition of indicators.
  • Fully conversant with communications and visibility technology (social media, video production, graphic design etc.)
  • Experience in organisation of events and campaigns would be an asset
  • Experience with EU framework contract management would be an asset


Soft skills

  • Strong motivation to work as Project Manager in a highly dynamic environment
  • Ability to prioritise own tasks and willingness to work independently
  • Ability to work under pressure and towards multiple deadlines
  • Creativity and innovative spirit
  • Strong intercultural, communication and networking skills


IT Skills

  • Strong command of Word and Excel
  • Sound command of PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of any other software for design, video editing etc. would be an asset


Languages

  • French: Full professional working proficiency
  • English: Full professional working proficiency
  • German: basic command would be a strong asset
  • Other language: would be an asset


Tasks

Focal point for communication and visibility related services in the area of development cooperation.

  • Elaboration of positioning statements and materials for external communication and business development.
  • Development of communication strategies and materials. Contribution to drafting technical offers and methodologies.
  • Quality assurance of communication strategies and materials prepared in the frame of Particip’s consultancy assignments, in close coordination with expert teams.
  • Represent Particip vis-à-vis clients and partners in a communication context.


Acquisition and implementation of EC development projects in different sectors with a focus on communication.

Tasks include among others:

  • General management of contracts and projects
  • Defining composition of project teams: Identification and recruitment of international experts
  • Developing implementation methodologies; Preparing financial proposals
  • Technical, administrative and financial backstopping of teams
  • Financial management of project budgets, preparing financial reports, processing payments
  • Assuring quality and assuming ultimate responsibility for all services and outputs delivered
  • Proof-reading and formatting reports, CVs and other documents (incl. graphics and excel spreadsheet presentations)
