Project Manager MarketMakers (f/m) 100%
MarketMakers is the project of the Swiss Agency for Development and Cooperation (SDC) implemented by HELVETAS Swiss Intercooperation. The project promotes the creation of job opportunities for young women and men in Bosnia and Herzegovina. MarketMakers applies the market systems development (MSD) approach to facilitate the creation of job opportunities for young women and men in three economic subsectors: ICT; food production and processing; and tourism.
MAIN TASKS
Your main responsibility is to lead the overall management of the project through high quality project implementation, including administrative and financial steering and coordination with partners and stakeholders. Specifically, you will ensure that the project complies with organisational administrative requirements and procedures, including time registration, reporting and controlling needs, preparation of financial statements with partners (Consortium partner, Co-facilitators) and other relevant requirements for a successful project implementation. You will provide high quality technical support and coordination, particularly in the application of the MSD approach through trainings/ workshops and continuous informal coaching and advice. As a Project Manager, you will also ensure the development and strengthening of the monitoring and results measurement (MRM) system of the project, as well as knowledge management for steering, accountability and learning. It is expected that your work will contribute to wider learning and exchange within the organisation as well as the international development community for which knowledge sharing through presentation and documentation is crucial.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
- University degree: Masters or Ph.D. in economics, development studies or similar social sciences
- At least five years of experience in development cooperation, particularly in the area of economy and/or labour market economics
- Very good understanding of the MSD approach as demonstrated by experience in its application, and a strong ability to think strategically and come up with innovative solutions (‘out of the box thinking’)
- Track record in project cycle management and team leadership
- Experience in training/presentation, coaching/consulting and research/analysis
- Experience in innovative practices in monitoring and results measurement (MRM) like the Donor Committee for Enterprise Development (DCED) standard for results measurement
- Excellent skills in reporting/writing, communication and intercultural competencies
- Excellent ability to write technical documents in English. Knowledge of German/French/Spanish, Russian or an Eastern European language is an asset
