Project Manager Serbia (m/f/d)
Forum Ziviler Friedensdienst / Forum Civil Peace Service (forumZFD) is a German civil society organisation and a member of the Civil Peace Service (CPS) consortium that is active in the fields of peacebuilding, dealing with the past, and enhancing a culture of peace and nonviolence. It finances its work through public and private grants, donations, and membership fees. The organization is currently working with peace consultants in Germany, as well as ten other countries in Europe, the Middle East and South East Asia.
For its office in Belgrade, forumZFD is seeking a full-time Project Manager for initiating and implementing its activities in Serbia in close cooperation with other forumZFD offices in the Western Balkans region. The main field of activity of forumZFD in the Western Balkans and in Serbia is dealing with the past (DwP), and the project manager will be part of a regional project team implementing activities in partnership with local and regional actors. Ideally, a selected candidate is available to start working on 1st March 2019 (preparation courses, followed by at least two years’ work within the project with the option of extension).
The candidate will perform the following duties:
- Design and implementing DwP related activities in Serbia in accordance with the regional strategy of forumZFD in the Western Balkans;
- Manage projects and activities related to the position (including planning, monitoring, steering, and finance controlling);
- Actively participate forumZFD fundraising efforts;
- Establishing and maintaining contacts with local organizations, partners and stakeholders;
- Report to the Country Director of the Serbia Office.
Requirements:
- Advanced university degree in a relevant discipline such as social sciences, humanities, or other suitable fields - postgraduate studies a plus;
- At least 5 years’ first-hand experience of designing and implementing projects within civil society organisations, preferred in DwP or related fields;
- Proven expertise in fundraising;
- Thorough knowledge of the political and social environment in Serbia and the Western Balkans, with a deep understanding of the challenges regarding the implementation of activities in the field of DwP in Serbia and the region;
- Excellent written and spoken command of English (office language), while proficiency in BCSM would be a strong asset;
- Competent in the use of IT office applications and social media;
- Driving licence and willingness to drive;
- Citizenship of an EU-member country or Switzerland is required for this position.
Our offer
We offer an attractive position with responsibilities for a minimum of two years in a growing organization. As the position is based on the German Development Aid Workers Act (EhfG), it is restricted to citizens of the EU and Switzerland. The position is renumerated according to the provisions of this law, including comprehensive social security benefits and financial reintegration assistance upon return. We also offer participation in qualification and professional development courses (among others, at forumZFD’s Academy for Conflict Transformation), a project-based preparation, regular coaching and, where appropriate, participation in a language course.
