As an internationally recognised NGO we strive towards ameliorating the quality of life of those affected and towards the implementation of human rights for persons with disabilities. For our programme team we are looking for a

Project Officer Mozambique & East Africa (m/f)


(20h Maternity leave cover for 18 months)


Your new areas of responsibility:

As a project officer you take on responsibility for selected projects within country programmes, supporting and accompanying them in coordination with the programme coordinator, the respective local country office and local partners. Your areas of responsibility are the monitoring of project development, finances and contract management. You deal with submissions and the handling of institutional project funding. In interactions with project partners you represent LIGHT FOR THE WORLD. You treat possible travels to partner countries as a window of opportunity for networking purposes and for strengthening cooperation.


Your profile:

You hold experience in the development sector, with work experience in similar organisations and developing countries being a definite advantage. You are keen for knowledge and enjoy working in an international context. English is a working tool that you are well in command of; and you have a good knowledge of Portuguese. With your personality and experience you contribute to the team and at the same time work independently and responsibly. Your interaction with project partners is refined, bringing cultural empathy and intercultural sensitivity into the equation.
