Climate Analytics is a non-profit organisation, established in 2008. We are based in Berlin with offices in New York, Lomé, Togo and Perth, Australia with staff and associates across Europe, South America, Africa and Asia. The organisation’s main mission is to synthesise and advance scientific knowledge in the area of climate change.
Climate Analytics has a multidisciplinary and diverse team of scientists and policy analysts with long experience in the international climate change debate, now increasingly focusing on strategic climate action implementation, in particular in Small Islands States and Least Developed Countries. Job Description
We are currently seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our team. The successful applicant will be in charge of the project management of the IMPACT project at Climate Analytics and will support the Implementation Strategies Team and the Climate Diplomacy Team in the coordination and management of the respective Work Packages under IMPACT and additional smaller projects. The position is based in Berlin, Germany.
The key responsibilities associated with the position include:
- Project planning, management and reporting
- Provide support in terms of resource planning and management
- Project budget controlling and monitoring
- Act as a focal point for contacts with funders and partners at administrative level
- Support the Implementation Strategies Team leader and Climate Diplomacy Team leader in the coordination and tracking of project deliverables
- Support the team in the acquisition of additional funding sources
Your Profile
Following qualifications and skills are required:
- A master’s degree in political, social or environmental science, or equivalent qualification; preferably with a focus on climate change
- Sound experience in project management techniques
- Experience in budget controlling, eligibility rules and procedures
- Experience in coordinating multi-partner consortia projects such as BMU/BMBF
- Experience in the development and writing of funding proposals targeting different funding agencies, ideally also EU and national government funding
- Well organized, self-motivated and flexible, with the ability to work independently but also as part of a larger team
- Excellent communication skills
- Excellent English and German writing and verbal skills
- Willing to travel to the target regions of the project (West Africa, Pacific, Caribbean) as well as to UNFCCC climate talks as required
Following skills are an asset:
- Experience working in an international and/or interdisciplinary context
- Experience working with a diverse array of partners and stakeholders
- Experience conducting e-meetings
- French skills
- Knowledge or a profound interest in solving major challenges related to climate change and sustainability
