Junior Expert (m/f)
in Port Sudan
The postition is to be filled as soon as possible, with an initial contract duration until 31 May 2019. Employment location will be Port Sudan, Sudan.
Your responsibilities
- Managing parts of, or whole projects
- Regular visits to the field sites
- Helping to defining project scope, product descriptions, goals and deliverables. Keep project plans up to date
- Maintain contact and communicate with all stakeholders when required
- Identify and raise issues and risks, and recommend action to resolve
- Assistance of administration of the projects including keeping all documentation, preparing reports
- Continuously monitoring and developing context understanding and analysis of Red Sea, humanitarian and development needs
- Coordinate with M&E officer (s) and monitor all project documentation for completeness
- Collection and analysis of project data. Report on progress of work in regards to projects /activities
- Report on progress of all communication to/from stakeholders
- Attend meetings and take minutes and action points. Distribute these once written up
- Maintaining and ensuring an effective and efficient office environment
- Ensure a thorough understanding of all elements of the Project Team to provide an effective and informed service to colleagues, partners and stakeholders
- Represent the Project Team at occasional meetings as requested by the Head of Project
Your profile
- Degree in International Development, Political Science, or any other related field
- 2 to 3 years’ experience in a similar role in the INGO Sector, or UN agencies in a developing country, as project level
- Experience with managing a project in the field essential
- Report writing skills
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- High level of English both written and spoken is essential
