Task description:
We are looking for a Junior Consultant (m/f) for Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET).
As Junior Consultant you will get to know the consulting business in international development cooperation from scratch, from the acquisition of new projects, over the conduct of negotiations to the technical and financial management of on-going projects. You will primarily work on TVET related projects, however, we expect the flexibility to work on other subject matters if required. Depending on performance, you will gradually take over more and more responsibility.
Your tasks
- Early identification and follow-up of up-coming projects
- Participation in the preparation of tenders, including staff recruitment and fee negotiations, identification of consortium partners, preparation of technical proposals/methodology, support to the preparation of financial proposals
- Assist with the technical and financial monitoring/management (backstopping) of on-going projects, including coordination and monitoring of the project activities on site, monitoring of the project progress, ensuring the compliance with formal specifications and procedures, supervision and management of project staff and resources, preparation/finalisation of project reports
- Conduct fact-finding and backstopping missions to the recipient countries
- Establish and maintain networks and professional relationships with our partners, clients, funding agencies, beneficiaries, partner companies or institutions, subcontractors as well as individual experts
Applicants should have
- University degree in the field of TVET (e.g. Lehramt an beruflichen Schulen) or adult education
- Basic knowledge in curricula development, assessment tools and teaching materials development for TVET
- Excellent drafting skills (curricula, large reports)
- Excellent communication skills (in speaking and writing) in English and German
- Asset: additional languages skills (Spanish, French or Portuguese)
- Asset: First experience abroad, in target countries of development cooperation
- Asset: First practical experience in the field of international development cooperation with one of the players in this field (e.g. donor organisations, consultant companies), also gained through internships.
