Our International Advisory Services (IAS) department is committed to improving financial markets and to increasing access to finance for low income populations. On behalf of various agencies and development finance institutions (such as ADB, EU, EIB, EBRD, GIZ, IFC, KfW, World Bank), International Advisory Services carries out projects across the globe.

For our projects in Myanmar we are looking for a Project Manager to be based in Yangon for 2 years. Subsequently, transfer to the Frankfurt School head office or to other project sites is intended.


Description of the job:

The Project Manager will be supporting our projects in the country. Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Full time management and follow-up of project plans
  • Establishing solid working relationship with the project teams, clients and key stakeholders
  • Liaising with local stakeholders and clients
  • Managing communication and information flows between all stakeholders, local project team and backstopping team in Frankfurt School’s headquarter
  • Coordinating and monitoring local and international experts assignments
  • Monitoring and evaluating performance of local experts and performing on-the-job training and examination when applicable
  • Selecting, recruiting and training local experts as required
  • Reporting for clients and donors
  • Participation in market research studies relevant to the projects


The candidate should have the following professional experience:

  • University degree (minimum level: Bachelor) in banking, finance or economics
  • At least 5 years of experience in project management, optimally in international, donor-funded projects
  • Familiar with project management tools
  • Previous experience of capacity building measures: advisory and training
  • Work experience in South East Asia
  • Proficiency in English language; Knowledge of Burmese language is an advantage.
  • Proficiency in German language is desirable
