Program Coordinator - Capacity Building Program

Objective:
CARE Österreich implements a 3 year programme in Ethiopia, Uganda, and Rwanda with the aim to build the capacities of local institutions in Women Empowerment. The main focus is on establishing gender equality in partner organizations, training in selected gender-related topics and methods as well as supporting national, regional and international advocacy on gender equality.
Starting date: as soon as possible
Responsibilities:
- Lead, strategic guidance and overall coordination of the integrated Regional Programme including planning of next programme phase
- Direct oversight of the cross-country learning component and the work of 2 experts in the field of gender, psychosocial support, organizational development and advocacy in Austria as well as 5 thematic experts in the target region
- Leadership in developing and implementation of programme monitoring and evaluation systems, knowledge management and learning within CARE Österreich and beyond
- Responsibility for efficient management of the programme in line with donor rules
- Representation work in the wider donor, NGO, INGO and CARE community
- Duty station Vienna with frequent travel to the programme regions
Reporting line:
- Reporting to the Programme Director of CARE Österreich
Qualifications:
- University degree in a relevant discipline (e.g. law, international business administration, management, social science)
- Minimum 10 years expertise in project management/ coordination
- Working experience in organizational development and capacity development (field experience is an asset)
- Strong management and teamwork skills
- Sound understanding of results-based management and key themes of this programme, including gender expertise
- Excellent communications skills in German and English; French is an asset
