Job Title: Rural Program Coordinator – Based in Liberia & Sierra Leone

Salary: £27,000 - £34,000
Report to: Programme Manager – Sierra Leone & Liberia
Contract: Full-time (37.5 hours per week)
Main place of work: Makeni, Sierra Leone, with frequent travel through Sierra Leone and Liberia

Our projects focus on a combination of education, child protection, and livelihood support to address the social, economic, and structural issues that underlie today's education crisis. Since 2008, we have supported over 1,500,000 children to attend school and learn.
Purpose of the role:
- Oversaw Street Child's continuous school construction program in Liberia and Sierra Leone.
- Supporting school, community engagement and economic empowerment activities.
- Working closely with local partners to manage the construction of 50-100 primary and secondary schools annually.
- Frequent trips to rural communities to monitor projects and collect updates for internal and donor reports.
Key responsibilities:
Reporting & Program Funding Engagement – 30%
- Review of narrative and financial quarterly reports of the country teams and provide feedback.
- Led the consolidation of narrative reports for various donors.
- Ensuring a regular flow of information to the communication and fundraising teams.
- Assistance with income generation, including the preparation of funding applications and donor visits.
Program implementation – 35%
- Working with national partners, the government and community stakeholders to identify and assess the need for school buildings.
- Ensuring the high-quality and timely implementation of the school construction programme.
- Develop systems to track progress on key milestones and address challenges.
- Training and guidance of partner personnel to ensure the effective use of program documents and tools.
- Monitor protection policies and support feedback loops with partners and participants.
Finance & Procurement – 20%
- Overseeing the procurement process and ensuring the best value for money when selecting contractors.
- Collaborate with finance colleagues to prepare financial reports for program sponsors.
- Assist teams in creating purchase orders in line with program forecasts and budgets.
- Coordinate the tracking of donor and matching funding requirements.
Other – 15%
- Providing support to other Street Child programs.
- Coordinate visits from employees, stakeholders and donors.
- Representation of Street Child both internally and externally.
- Performing other appropriate duties within the role.
Requirements / Experience and Knowledge:
- Relevant practical experience in development work with respectful local partnerships.
- Successfully implement team goals through collaboration.
- Experience in data collection, cleansing and analysis.
- Experience in education, community engagement, and livelihoods.
- In-depth knowledge of the context in Liberia and/or Sierra Leone.
- Experience with donor reporting and budget management.
- Knowledge of German (preferred, but not mandatory).

Education / Qualifications:
- Degree in International Development or a related field.
- Relevant training in MEAL (Monitoring, Evaluation, Accountability and Learning).
