In support of our Middle East regional team at headquarters in Cologne, we are looking for a Program Manager Middle East (m/f/d).
Your responsibilities:
- Planning and management of humanitarian aid and development cooperation projects
- Monitoring, supervising and ensuring the quality of projects in our project countries in the Middle East (depending on the focus, Lebanon, Iraq, Syria, Turkey)
- Project proposal development, interim and final reporting to donors
- Ensuring compliant implementation of projects in accordance with the specifications and guidelines of the various donors and in close coordination with the field team and implementing partners
- Supporting and advising the implementing local partners
- Supporting the public relation work and lobbying
Your profile:
- Master Degree preferably in Social or Political Sciences, ideally Humanitarian Aid, Development Studies
- Several years of professional experience in humanitarian aid and/or development cooperation with proven project experience in the Middle East
- Experience in working with local partners and/or civil society organisations is an advantage
- Strong project management skills and experience and are familiar with the strategic planning and implementation of donor-funded projects (German Federal Foreign Office, BMZ, US donors or the European Union, among others); sector experience in the areas of health, livelihoods, social cohesion, WASH would be considered as an advantage.
- High level of personal commitment, flexibility, communication skills and a willingness to work in a team
- Readiness for regular monitoring trips to the project regions
- Fluency in English (written and spoken); German, French and Arabic would be an asset
